The trees that line our streets and those in Fleming Park help to make Southampton the livable and beautiful neighborhood that it is.  Maintaining our existing trees and planting new ones where there are openings is important to the long term uniqueness of our neighborhood.  The Southampton Tree Committee is a group dedicated to helping meet this objective and the following two documents give specific guidance on keeping our trees healthy.

How to Preserve Your Trees provides tips for the planting of new trees even during droughts and the timing of conducting landscape projects to minimize harm to existing trees.

How Not to Kill Your Trees is a paper describing activities that adversely affect the health of our trees and that should be avoided.
